Influencer Rate Calculator
Turn follower count and engagement rate into a starting rate, using a cost-per-engagement you set from your own comparisons, not a made-up benchmark.
Your numbers
For your own reference on the page. It doesn't change the math: rates vary too much by niche and format to bake in a platform default.
(Likes + comments) ÷ followers on a typical post. Ask the creator for their own numbers or check a recent post.
There's no published market rate for this. Start low, check a few comparable creators' past sponsored rates, and adjust.
Feed posts, Reels or videos included in the rate. Add extra stories or usage rights on top.

Suggested rate for this creator
$438
875 expected engagements per post × $0.50 × 1 deliverable.
- Expected engagements per post
- 875
- Rate per post
- $438
- Rate per 1,000 followers
- $17.50
This is a starting point, not a market rate: influencer pricing varies hugely by niche, format and how well the creator's audience matches your buyers. Ask 2 to 3 comparable creators what past sponsored posts paid before you settle on a number, and weigh a tracked-sales trial (see the [influencer ROI calculator](/tools/influencer-roi-calculator)) over reach alone.

Why this doesn't use a fixed rate table
Published “influencer rate” tables vary wildly by niche, platform and format, and most aren't sourced from real deals. Instead of guessing at a number, this calculator asks for the one thing you control: what you're willing to pay per engagement. Everything else follows from the creator's own follower count and engagement rate.
Example: the default numbers
- Followers × engagement rate
- 25,000 × 3.5% = 875 expected engagements
- × cost per engagement
- 875 × $0.50 = $437.50
- × 1 deliverable
- $437.50
Suggested rate is $438 for one post, or $17.50 per 1,000 followers.
Setting your cost per engagement
- Ask a few comparable creators what past sponsored posts paid, and back into a cost-per-engagement from that.
- Cross-check with a paid social CPM you already pay: engaged followers are roughly comparable to a well-targeted paid audience.
- Adjust for exclusivity, usage rights and turnaround time, none of which this calculator prices in on its own.
Get the creator's own engagement rate from a recent post rather than an estimate, since follower count alone says little about how many people actually see and act on a post.
Questions people ask
How much should I pay an influencer?
There's no fixed market rate. A common starting point is a rate per expected engagement, checked against what comparable creators charged for past sponsored posts.
What's a good engagement rate?
It varies by platform and follower count, and drops as an account grows. Compare a creator's own rate over their recent posts rather than a fixed target.
Should I pay by followers or by engagement?
Engagement is the better proxy for actual reach and interest, since follower counts can be inflated or stale.
How do I know if a rate is fair?
Track tracked sales after the post with the influencer ROI calculator. A rate that doesn't earn its keep on sales, and isn't clearly buying reach either, is worth renegotiating.
