A plain list, one code per line. Paste it into a bulk discount code app, or merge it into emails with your email platform's CSV import.

31 possible characters × 8 positions = 852,891,037,441 possible codes. Codes are made in your browser with its secure random generator and never sent anywhere.

How the codes are made

Each code is your prefix, a run of random characters, and an optional suffix. The random part comes from your browser's secure random generator, and every code in a batch is unique. Nothing is sent to a server.

Someone guessing at random would need billions of tries to hit a valid code. The tool warns you when codes get short enough to guess.

Using the codes on Shopify

  1. 01

    Create the discount

    In Shopify admin go to Discounts → Create discount, choose the type and set Method to Discount code. Set the value and tick Limit to one per customer or a total use limit as needed.

  2. 02

    Add the codes with an app

    Bulk code apps such as Bulk Discount Code Bot can import a list or CSV of existing codes. Paste the plain list export.

  3. 03

    Or use the Admin API

    Developers can send the Shopify API export to the discountRedeemCodeBulkAdd mutation, up to 250 codes per call. Shopify allows up to 20,000,000 unique codes per store.

Using the codes on WooCommerce

  1. 01

    WP-CLI

    Download the WooCommerce WP-CLI export and run it on your server. Each line runs wp wc shop_coupon create with your discount type, amount, usage limits and expiry.

  2. 02

    Coupon import plugins

    The CSV export uses WooCommerce's coupon field names. With Smart Coupons, import under Marketing → Coupons → Import Coupons, matching its sample file's columns.

  3. 03

    Check a few

    Open Marketing → Coupons and try a code at checkout before you send the batch out.

Single-use codes work best for influencer, customer service and win-back campaigns, where you want each code tied to one person.

Questions people ask

How do I generate unique discount codes in bulk?

Set how many you need, a prefix and a length, then copy or download the list. Every code in the batch is different.

Why leave out 0, O, 1, I and L?

They're easy to mix up when customers type a code from print or a screenshot. The default set skips them.

Can I import these into Shopify?

Yes, through a bulk discount code app that accepts a list, or through the Admin API's discountRedeemCodeBulkAdd mutation.

How do I add thousands of coupons to WooCommerce?

Run the WP-CLI export on your server, or import the CSV with a coupon import plugin. Creating them one by one in admin isn't practical.

Are the codes stored anywhere?

No. They're generated in your browser and disappear when you leave, so download them before you close the page.
