WooCommerce Checkout Link Generator
Build a link that fills the cart, applies a coupon and opens checkout, plus a QR code for print.
Your details
Your link
https://example.com/checkout-link/?products=123:2,456:1&coupon=SPRING10&utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=spring-bundleQR code
For packaging, flyers and in-store displays. Scan it with your phone before you print.
Opening this link empties the shopper's current cart, adds these products, applies the coupon and lands on checkout. UTM parameters are passed through to the checkout page.
Works with simple products and specific variations. Products that need extra options (add-ons, bookings, subscriptions with choices) won't add.
The two link formats
| Checkout link | Add-to-cart URL | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | /checkout-link/?products=123:2,456:1&coupon=CODE | /checkout/?add-to-cart=123&quantity=2 |
| Needs | WooCommerce 10.0 or later | Any version |
| Products | Several, each with a quantity | One (or a grouped product's children) |
| Coupon | Yes, coupon= | No built-in parameter |
| Existing cart | Emptied first | Added to |
Both work with simple products and specific variations (use the variation ID). Products that need extra choices, such as add-ons, can't be added by URL.
Finding product and variation IDs
- 01
Simple products
Go to Products in WordPress admin and hover over the product name. The ID shows under the title.
- 02
Variations
Edit the product, open Product data → Variations and use the ID shown next to each variation.
- 03
Build and test
Paste IDs as
123:2, one per line, add a coupon and UTM tags, then use Test the link in a private window.
UTM tags ride along to the checkout page, so GA4 attributes the order to the right campaign. Scan the QR code with your phone before you print it.
Pitfalls
- The checkout link path is fixed. It's always
/checkout-link/and can't be renamed. - Guest sessions get a `session` parameter added on redirect. That's expected, and it's what keeps the cart.
- Products limited to one per order only add one, whatever quantity the link asks for.
- Invalid IDs send shoppers to the cart with an error, so test every link after changing products.
Questions people ask
How do I create an add to cart link in WooCommerce?
Use https://yourstore.com/?add-to-cart=PRODUCT_ID&quantity=1. Put /checkout/ or /cart/ before the ? to land there. This tool builds it for you.
Can one link add several products?
Yes, with the native checkout link in WooCommerce 10.0 and later: products=123:2,456:1. Classic add-to-cart URLs take one product.
Can the link apply a coupon?
The checkout link can, with &coupon=CODE. WooCommerce has no built-in coupon parameter for add-to-cart URLs.
Does it work with the block checkout?
Yes. Both formats end on your normal checkout page, whichever checkout you use.
What if a shopper already has items in their cart?
A checkout link replaces the cart with the linked products. An add-to-cart URL adds to what's there.
