How Walmart seller fees work
Walmart Marketplace has no setup or monthly fee. You pay a referral fee on each sale: a percentage set by the category and, in some categories, the price. If you use Walmart Fulfillment Services you also pay WFS fees. Rates last checked 30 Sep 2026.
Tiered categories work in two different ways, and it matters:
- Whole-price tiers (Apparel, Baby, Beauty, Grocery, Outdoor Power Tools): the rate for the price band applies to the whole sale. Apparel at $20.00 pays 10%; at $20.01 it pays 15% on everything.
- Portion tiers (Compact Appliances, Electronics Accessories, Furniture, Jewelry, Watches): each rate applies only to the part of the price in its band, like tax brackets. Jewelry at $400 pays 20% of $250 plus 5% of $150 = $57.50.
Worked example (the calculator's starting values)

Pricing Walmart listings from your own store
If you sync products to Walmart from your store, the price you set there flows to the listing, so check the Walmart margin before you change it. In Shopify, prices live on the product under Products; in WooCommerce, under Products, then Product data > General.
- Watch the band edges. An apparel item at $20.99 pays 15% ($3.15) and leaves you $17.84. At $19.99 it pays 10% ($2.00) and leaves $17.99, so the lower price earns more.
- Shipping counts. A $17 apparel item with $5.99 shipping totals $22.99, and the whole sale pays 15%.
- Promotions. Walmart runs reduced referral fee programs for enrolled items. The calculator uses the standard published rates.
- Check your statements. Your payment statements in Seller Center show the referral fee charged on each order.
Questions people ask
How much does Walmart charge sellers?
No monthly or setup fee. Walmart takes a referral fee on each sale, from 3% to 20% depending on category and price. Many categories, including Everything Else, are 15%.
Does Walmart charge the referral fee on shipping?
Yes. The total sales price includes the item price plus shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges.
Is there a minimum referral fee on Walmart?
Walmart's published fee table doesn't list a per-item minimum. Amazon, by comparison, has a $0.30 minimum in most categories.
What's the Walmart fee on electronics?
Consumer Electronics is 8%. Electronics Accessories is 15% on the first $100 and 8% on the part above. Personal Computers are 6%.
Do WFS fees replace the referral fee?
No. WFS fees come on top of the referral fee. Use the WFS fee calculator to add them.
