Blueprint files are validated against a strict schema on import. Treat this as a starting point: import it under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Blueprint (beta) and confirm it applies cleanly.

Export a Blueprint from your current store too (same screen, Export tab), then paste both into Compare mode to see exactly what differs before you import one into another store.

What a Blueprint is

WooCommerce Blueprints (Settings → Advanced → Blueprint, currently in beta) export a store's settings, plugins and theme as one portable JSON file, built on the WordPress Playground blueprint format, so you can apply the same setup to another store.

Blueprint files are validated against a strict schema on import, so anything built here is a starting point: import it into a test store and confirm it applies cleanly before trusting it on a live one.

Comparing two Blueprints

Compare mode does a plain, recursive value-by-value diff of two pasted JSON files, so it works regardless of which settings, plugins or steps each one covers, useful for checking what actually changed between two stores' exports, or before and after a settings change.

Questions people ask

Can this replace an export from a real store?

No. Export a real Blueprint from your store first (same Settings → Advanced → Blueprint screen) to see the exact keys WooCommerce itself writes, and use the build mode here mainly as a quick starting point or a template.

What does Compare mode actually check?

Every value in both files, recursively. Anything only in one file, or different between the two, shows up as an added, removed or changed line.

Will an imported Blueprint work on any WooCommerce version?

Blueprints are validated on import, and WooCommerce may reject fields it doesn't recognize on an older or newer version. Test on a staging site first.

Can I install a plugin through a Blueprint?

Yes, for a plugin from WordPress.org, using an installPlugin step with the plugin's slug. Premium or custom plugins outside WordPress.org aren't installable this way.
