Black Friday Email Generator
Plan and write your Black Friday and Cyber Monday emails: teaser, launch, reminders and last chance, dated for this year.
The 2026 calendar
Black Friday is the day after US Thanksgiving, which falls on the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 that's Thursday, November 26, so the Send lines work out like this:
| 4-email plan | 6-email plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Teaser | Tuesday, November 24 | Tuesday, November 24 |
| Gift guide | Thursday, November 26 | |
| Launch | Friday, November 27 (Black Friday) | Friday, November 27 |
| Weekend reminder | Sunday, November 29 | |
| Cyber Monday | Monday, November 30 | Monday, November 30 |
| Last chance | Monday, November 30, about 4 hours before the end | Monday, November 30 |
The dates update each year. If your sale runs on different days, move the Send lines and keep the end time the same in every email.
Email ideas by offer type
- Sitewide discount: the simplest message. Lead with the percentage and code in the launch email.
- Tiered discount (spend more, save more): the tiers appear as a list, exactly as you give them.
- Selected products: only the products you name. The emails never say “everything”.
- Gift with purchase: protects your prices. “While stock lasts” appears only if you say so.
- Free shipping: pair it with your holiday shipping cutoff in the reminders.
- No discount: gift ideas, bestsellers and shipping deadlines, with no sale language at all.
Work out what a discount really costs before you choose one with the discount break-even calculator.
Pricing claims to check
- US: the FTC's pricing guides treat a former price as fictitious if it wasn't offered openly and in good faith for a reasonably substantial period, for example a price raised just before the sale.
- EU: an announced price reduction must show the lowest price you charged in at least the 30 days before it. Don't raise prices in November to discount them later.
- No invented scarcity. The emails never say “selling fast” or give stock numbers you didn't provide.
Scheduling it
- 01
Create the discount first
In Shopify, go to Discounts. In WooCommerce, go to Marketing > Coupons. Test it at checkout before the launch email.
- 02
Schedule the campaigns
Schedule each email as a campaign in Shopify Messaging, Klaviyo or your email tool, using the Send lines.
- 03
Exclude buyers
Leave out anyone who has ordered during the sale from the reminder and last chance emails.
Questions people ask
When should I start sending Black Friday emails?
A teaser early in Black Friday week works for most stores. It tells people the sale is coming without giving away the code, so they plan to come back.
How many Black Friday emails should I send?
Four covers the essentials: teaser, launch, Cyber Monday and last chance. Six adds a gift guide and a weekend reminder, for stores whose customers buy gifts.
What if I don't want to discount?
Pick No discount. The emails focus on gift ideas, bestsellers and your shipping cutoff instead, with no sale language.
Should I run a separate Cyber Monday offer?
You can extend the same offer or add a new one. If your sale ends before Monday, the Cyber Monday email leaves [Cyber Monday offer] for you to fill in.
Can I text my Black Friday offer too?
Yes, to customers who opted in to texts. Write them with the SMS marketing message generator.
