Setting it on Shopify
On a single product: open it in admin, go to Pricing, turn on Charge a unit price, and enter the total measure and base measure the calculator shows.
For a bulk CSV import, Shopify's product CSV uses four exact column headers: Unit price total measure, Unit price total measure unit, Unit price base measure, Unit price base measure unit. This calculator's result rows give you the values to paste into each.
Questions people ask
What units does Shopify support?
A standard metric set for weight, volume and length (grams, kilograms, milliliters, liters, centimeters, meters and similar). Some units, like tons or stones, aren't supported; check your product's Pricing section for the exact list Shopify offers.
Can I compare grams to milliliters?
No, unit price only makes sense within the same kind of measurement: weight to weight, volume to volume, length to length. The calculator warns you if you pick two that don't match.
Do variants need their own unit price?
Yes, if different variants (like different pack sizes) have different unit prices, set it per variant, or per variant row in a CSV import.
Does the unit price show automatically on the storefront?
Most current Shopify themes display it automatically near the price once it's set; check yours, since older or heavily customized themes may need a small template edit.
