Shopify Duplicate Schema Checker
Lists every Product, Organization and Breadcrumb structured data block on a page, and which one to switch off.
Why duplicates happen
It's common for a Shopify store to end up with two sources adding the same structured data type: the theme's own Product or Organization schema, plus a review or SEO app (Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, and others) adding its own copy on the same page.
Google usually reads only one and can ignore or flag both, and it makes Search Console's structured data reports harder to trust.
What to do with the results
The checker fetches the page, reads every <script type="application/ld+json"> block, and groups them by @type. Any type with more than one block is flagged, with each block's name so you can tell them apart.
Pick one source to keep, usually your theme's, since it's easier to control, and turn the other off: for a review app, check its schema/SEO settings for a toggle; for a theme, check Sections or Snippets in the theme code for a file named something like structured-data.liquid.
Questions people ask
Does duplicate schema hurt my SEO?
It's rarely a penalty by itself, but it makes Google's read of the page unpredictable and can surface as warnings in Search Console. Worth cleaning up, not urgent to panic over.
How does the tool know which app added which block?
It looks for recognizable app names or script patterns in the page's HTML near common review/SEO apps. It's a best-effort hint, not a guarantee; the block's own "name" field is the more reliable clue.
What if I only see one block per type?
Then there's nothing to fix here. The checker still tells you if a block failed to parse as valid JSON, which is worth investigating separately.
Can I check a collection or blog page, not just a product?
Yes, it works on any URL: it just reports whatever @type values it finds, whether that's Product, Organization, BreadcrumbList, or something else.
