eBay Description Generator
Write an honest eBay description that covers condition, item specifics, what's included and shipping, in clean HTML eBay accepts.
What the description covers
| Section | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| Heading and opening | Brand, model and product type, then the most important fact |
| Condition | Exact condition, every flaw you mention, and what was tested |
| Item specifics | Brand, model, size, color, capacity and other facts, as a list |
| What's included | Everything in the box, and notable things that aren't, such as a charger |
| Shipping and returns | Only your own shipping and returns details |
For anything except new items, you also get a short condition description for eBay's separate condition field. eBay ignores that field for brand-new conditions, so for New the tool says it isn't needed.
Clean HTML that eBay accepts
eBay doesn't allow active content in descriptions: JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins and form actions. Since June 2017 it doesn't load for buyers, and new listings that include it get a "Disallowed JavaScript/HTML Syntax" error.
The generator uses only simple tags (<h2>, <h3>, <p>, <ul>, <li> and <strong>), with no scripts, styles, tables or links, and keeps the text under 1,500 characters so it reads well on phones.

Why honesty sells
- Every flaw, stated plainly. The tool never softens or skips a flaw you mention, because an undisclosed flaw is the fastest route to a return.
- Photos of each flaw. The tool lists the photos buyers will expect, including close-ups of what you describe.
- Tested means tested. Say what works and how you checked. "Untested" is honest too, and belongs under For parts or not working.
Questions people ask
Can I use HTML in an eBay description?
Yes. eBay allows HTML and CSS, but not active content such as JavaScript, Flash, plug-ins or forms. The tool uses simple tags that are always safe.
What's the difference between the description and the condition description?
The description covers the whole item. The condition description is a short separate field for used items' condition, which eBay ignores for brand-new conditions.
Should I include my return policy?
Only what matches the returns you set in the listing. The tool uses exactly what you give it, or points buyers to the listing's returns section.
Can I add images to the description?
Add photos in the listing's photo section. The tool doesn't add image tags, so nothing breaks.
Is it free?
Yes, with a fair-use limit so it stays free for everyone. There's no sign-up. Your notes are sent to an AI model only to write the copy.
