How it works

On Printify, the same blank can have a different price and shipping rate with each print provider. The calculator compares two providers, each on the Free and Premium plans, and ranks all four by monthly profit.

Monthly profit = (price + shipping charged − fees − product price − provider shipping) × orders − Premium fee

Example: the default numbers (150 orders a month)

Customer pays
$27.99 + $4.99 = $32.98
Payment fee (2.9% + 30¢)
−$1.26
Provider 2 on Free
$9.80 + $5.40 shipping → $16.52 an order
Premium at 20% off the product
saves $1.96 an order

Provider 2 on Premium makes $18.48 × 150 − $24.99 = $2,748 a month. Premium pays for itself from 13 orders a month.

The product and shipping prices are examples. Copy the real ones from the product's page in Printify for each provider you're considering.

Printify says “up to” 20%, so check the Premium price on your product before you rely on it. The discount applies to product prices, not shipping.

Picking a print provider

  • Location. Choose a provider that prints in the country most of your customers live in.
  • Production time and reviews. Printify shows these for each provider. A cheap provider that ships late costs you in refunds.
  • Stock. Check the colors and sizes you need are in stock with your chosen provider.

Questions people ask

Is Printify Premium worth it?

When the discount across your monthly orders is more than the plan fee. The calculator shows the break-even order count for your product.

Why do Printify print providers charge different prices?

Each provider sets its own product and shipping prices, and they print in different places. Compare the total cost, not just the product price.

Does the Premium discount apply to shipping?

No. Printify's Premium discount is on product prices, so the calculator only applies it there.

Can I use this for Etsy?

Yes. Switch Where you sell to Etsy to apply the listing, transaction and processing fees for a US seller.
