Clothing Brand Name Generator
Get clothing brand names suited to your style, streetwear to luxury to workwear, short enough to print on a label and sewn into a garment.
Names that fit your clothing style
| Clothing style | What the names lean on |
|---|---|
| Streetwear | Short, bold, confident: names that look good on a chest print |
| Luxury | Understated: a surname-style name, a single elegant word, or invented |
| Athleisure | Movement and ease, without sport clichés like "Fit" or "Flex" |
| Minimalist basics | Plain, calm, one or two words |
| Vintage | A sense of era or place, without claiming an age the stock doesn't have |
| Workwear | Sturdy, practical names that suggest craft |
| Kidswear | Warm and playful, easy for children to say |
Every name is kept to 12 letters or fewer where possible, since a clothing name has to work sewn small on a label and printed large on a chest or a hangtag.
Clothing is a crowded trademark class
Clothing, shoes and hats sit in one of the most active US trademark classes, so a name that looks free on Google can still collide with a registered mark. Search widely before you commit.
- 01
Search the trademark databases
Search the name in the USPTO trademark search if you sell in the US, and the WIPO Global Brand Database for other countries. Look for the same or similar-sounding names on related products, not only exact matches.
- 02
Search the web and social platforms
Search Google, Instagram, TikTok and the marketplaces you sell on for a business already using the name.
- 03
Check the domain and handles
Check the domain with a registrar and the social handles on each platform you plan to use. Nothing is yours until you register it.
- 04
Get a second opinion
Say your top three out loud to a few people and ask them to spell it back. Before you pay for a logo or packaging, have a trademark attorney run a clearance search.
Questions people ask
Why 12 letters or fewer?
A clothing name has to work on a small woven or printed label, not just on a website. Shorter names stay legible at that size and print cleanly on a chest.
Can I mix clothing styles, like streetwear with a luxury feel?
Pick the closest single style for the cleanest results. If your brand really straddles two, generate a batch under each and compare.
Is clothing a hard category for trademarks?
Yes. Clothing is one of the busiest trademark classes, so search for similar names used on clothing, shoes and hats specifically, not only an exact match to your name.
Should the name describe what I sell?
Not necessarily. A name that only describes the product is the weakest kind of trademark. "Invented words" or "Real words, new meaning" give you a stronger, more defensible name.
