Value Proposition Generator
Write a homepage hero headline, subheading and button from five angles, plus a one-sentence value proposition statement to reuse everywhere.
The statement, and five hero angles
The value proposition statement follows a classic pattern: for (who), (store) is the (category) that (main benefit), unlike (what they use instead) which (its drawback). It's the one-sentence version to keep for briefs, About pages and ad copy.
- Outcome: what life looks like with the product.
- Differentiator: what you do that others don't.
- Audience-first: names who it's for.
- Problem: names the frustration it removes.
- Plain description: says exactly what you sell, clearly and simply.
Pick Mixed to get one option per angle, or lock in a single angle and get several worded differently.
What makes a headline work
Headlines run 3 to 9 words and under 60 characters. The bar is that a first-time visitor understands what you sell within five seconds of reading the headline and subheading together, clear beating clever every time.
The button always names where it goes, such as "Shop linen shirts", never "Learn more" or "Click here", and no claim appears ("best", "#1", "loved by thousands") unless your details back it up.
Testing and installing it

Five-second test
Show the hero to someone who doesn't know your store for five seconds, then ask what you sell and who it's for. If they can't say, pick a clearer option.

Shopify
Go to Online Store > Themes, click Customize, and paste the headline, subheading and button into your home page's image banner or hero section.
- 03

Questions people ask
What's the difference between the statement and the hero options?
The statement is one sentence for internal use: briefs, ads, your About page. The hero options are the actual headline, subheading and button for your homepage.
Which angle should I pick?
Mixed is the fastest way to see your options side by side. Once you know what resonates, lock in that single angle and generate a few more worded differently to A/B test.
Can the subheading mention a statistic?
Only a real one from your details, such as a shipping time or a material fact. It never invents a rating, a customer count or a percentage.
How do I know if the headline is working?
Use the five-second test: show it to someone unfamiliar with your store and see if they can say what you sell and who it's for.
What comes after the hero copy?
Back it up with an About Us page that tells the fuller story, and keep the value proposition statement for your ad copy and briefs.
