Creator Brief Generator
Write a full UGC or influencer brief: deliverables, do's and don'ts, usage rights and FTC-compliant disclosure wording, from your campaign details.
What the brief covers
- Campaign overview: the brand, product, goal, audience and the one message to land.
- Deliverables: number, format, length and aspect ratio, taken from what you enter.
- What to show, do's and don'ts: specific shots and rules, plus standard don'ts (no health claims, no competitor names, no unlicensed music).
- Usage rights: how long and where you can run the content as paid ads, matched to what you picked.
- Disclosure, timeline and payment: written from your terms, with placeholders for anything you haven't set yet.
Nothing is invented: a fee, a deadline or a usage term you don't give comes back as a placeholder like [Fee] instead of a guess.
Disclosure, by the FTC's rules
In the US, the FTC's endorsement guidance says a paid or gifted partnership has to be disclosed clearly, near the start of the content, not buried in a caption or a video description. For a video, say it out loud and show it on screen near the beginning.
- Clear wording: "#ad", "Ad", "Sponsored" or "Thanks [Brand] for the free product".
- Not clear enough on their own: "#sp", "#spon", "#collab" or "#ambassador".
- For an affiliate code or link, the creator also says they earn a commission if someone buys through it.
This is general information, not legal advice. Check current FTC guidance and any platform-specific disclosure tools before a campaign goes live.
Questions people ask
What should a creator brief include?
The product, the goal, exact deliverables, what to show, do's and don'ts, usage rights, disclosure requirements, deadlines and payment terms, so there are no surprises for either side.
Do I need a separate written agreement too?
Yes. The brief sets expectations, but the fee, usage term and dates should also sit in a written agreement signed by both sides before filming.
What's the difference between the usage rights options?
How long and where you can run the creator's content as paid ads, from organic reposting only up to 12 months of paid use. Pick the option that matches what you've actually agreed with the creator.
Does the creator have to disclose the partnership?
If they post it on their own account, yes. If the content runs only from your brand's own accounts, no disclosure is needed there, but any post the creator makes themselves still needs one.
I need the video script the creator will film, not the brief.
Use the product video script generator or the ad hook generator alongside the brief.
