Influencer Outreach Email Generator
Write a first message and follow-up for gifted, paid or affiliate collaborations, plus the FTC disclosure points for your brief.
Gifted, paid or affiliate
| Offer | What you give | What to spell out |
|---|---|---|
| Gifted product | Free product | What you're hoping for in return, if anything |
| Paid partnership | A fee | Deliverables, fee, deadlines and usage rights |
| Affiliate commission | A share of sales | Commission rate, how sales are tracked, any code for their audience |
State the offer plainly in the first message. Anything you leave out of Details appears as a placeholder, such as [Fee], so nothing is made up.
What a good first message does
- Shows you know their work, with one specific post. The generator won't invent one: add it under Why them.
- Says who you are in a sentence.
- States the offer and what you'd like in return.
- Mentions disclosure up front, so it's never awkward later.
- Asks one easy question they can answer in a line.
Emails run 90 to 150 words. DMs are 40 to 80 words with no subject line. The follow-up goes 5 to 7 days later and adds something new instead of just bumping the thread.
FTC disclosure: what to put in your brief
- Anyone with a material connection to your brand (payment, free or discounted product, a family or work relationship) must disclose it when they endorse your product.
- The disclosure goes in the post itself: not only in a bio, at the end, behind a “more” link or mixed into a block of hashtags.
- In video, it belongs in the video, not just the description, and should be repeated during live streams.
- Clear: “Ad”, “#ad”, “Sponsored” or “Thanks [Brand] for the free product”. Not clear: “#sp”, “#spon”, “#collab”, or “thanks” and “ambassador” on their own.
- For affiliate links, say you earn a commission, close to the link. The FTC says “affiliate link” on its own isn't enough.
- Your brand is responsible too. The FTC expects advertisers to train and monitor the people who promote them.
This summarizes the FTC's guidance for the US. If you work with creators elsewhere, check the local rules as well.

Questions people ask
How long should an influencer outreach email be?
About 90 to 150 words: long enough to show you know their work and state the offer, short enough to read on a phone.
Should I DM or email?
Use the email address in their bio if there is one, especially for paid work. DMs suit quick gifting offers. The tool writes both.
Can I ask for a positive review in exchange for free product?
No. Endorsements must reflect the creator's honest opinion, and the FTC's rules ban incentives that depend on a review being positive.
What if they don't reply?
Send one follow-up 5 to 7 days later with something new, such as a product detail or the brief. If there's still no answer, move on.
Do gifted posts need #ad?
Yes, if the creator got the product free and posts about it: that's a material connection. The FTC says “#ad” works for both paid and gifted posts.
