A flat fee below $15, a percentage above it

Poshmark's US seller fee has just two rules: sales of $15 or under pay a flat $2.95, and everything above that pays 20% of the sale price. There's no fee on shipping, since the buyer's shipping payment goes straight to the label.

Poshmark fee = $2.95 if price ≤ $15, otherwise 20% × price

Example (the calculator's starting numbers)

Sale price
$30.00
Commission (20%)
$6.00
Item cost
$8.00

You earn $24.00 and keep $16.00 in profit. The same item priced at $15 would earn $12.05 after the flat fee; priced at $15.01 it earns $12.01, less than at $15 itself.

The pricing cliff, and cheap items

  • Just over $15 costs you. Crossing from $15.00 to $15.01 switches you from the flat fee to 20%, which can leave you with less money than pricing at exactly $15. Price at $15 or jump to at least $15.07 to come out ahead.
  • Very cheap items lose the most share. A $2.95 flat fee on a $5 item is nearly 60% of the sale. Bundle low-priced pieces into one listing instead of selling them separately.
  • Shipping discounts come out of your pocket, not Poshmark's. If you offer discounted or free shipping, enter what you cover in Shipping discount you cover.

Questions people ask

How much does Poshmark take from a sale?

A flat $2.95 on sales of $15 or under, and 20% of the sale price above $15. There's no separate fee on the shipping the buyer pays.

Why did I earn less on a $15.01 sale than a $15 sale?

At $15 you pay the flat $2.95 fee. One cent higher, the 20% rate applies to the whole price, which comes to more than $2.95 until the price passes about $15.07.

Does Poshmark charge a fee on shipping?

No. The buyer's shipping payment goes straight to cover the label. Poshmark's fee is only on the item's sale price.

What's the best price to avoid the Poshmark fee cliff?

Price at exactly $15.00 to get the flat fee, or at $15.07 or more so the 20% commission earns you more than $12.05. Prices between $15.01 and $15.06 earn less than pricing at $15.

Is Poshmark or Mercari cheaper?

It depends on price. Mercari's 10% (on item and shipping) often beats Poshmark's 20% on higher-priced items, but Poshmark's flat $2.95 fee can beat Mercari on cheap items with expensive shipping. Compare both on the marketplace fee comparison tool.
