How the comparison works
Each platform's US seller fees are applied to the same item. Take-home is the item price minus fees. Shipping is left out of take-home because on most platforms the buyer's shipping payment goes straight to the label, but it's included in the fee wherever a platform charges on it.

Vinted keeps the most on paper, and an Etsy sale that comes through Offsite Ads keeps the least ($27.79). The cheapest platform is only best if it has buyers for your item.

Facebook Marketplace and StockX are not in the fixed list because their fee pages couldn't be checked for this update. Use Add another platform to enter their current rates from the platform's own fee page. The fee change log tracks recent changes.
Choosing where to sell
- Match the buyers. Poshmark, Depop and Vinted suit clothing. Whatnot suits cards and collectibles sold live. eBay covers almost everything.
- Watch the extras. Ads (eBay Promoted Listings, Etsy Offsite Ads, Depop Boosting) can double your fees. Model them with the eBay and Etsy calculators.
- Your own store has the lowest fees per sale but no built-in buyers. The Etsy vs Shopify calculator shows when it pays off.

Questions people ask
Which selling platform has the lowest fees?
In the US, Vinted charges sellers nothing, and your own Shopify or WooCommerce store costs about 2.9% + 30¢ per sale plus a monthly fee. Among fee-charging marketplaces, Depop (processing only) and Mercari (10%) are lowest, and Poshmark (20%) is highest.
Is eBay or Etsy cheaper to sell on?
For most items Etsy is cheaper: about 9.5% + 45¢ against eBay's 13.6% + 40¢. Etsy's Offsite Ads (12% or 15% on the orders it brings) can reverse that.
Is Poshmark or Mercari cheaper?
Mercari: 10% of the item and buyer-paid shipping against Poshmark's 20% of the sale price. On a $40 item with $8 shipping that's $4.80 against $8.00.
Why isn't Facebook Marketplace in the list?
Its fee page couldn't be checked for this update, and this tool only lists rates confirmed on official pages. Use Add another platform with the rate Facebook shows you when you list a shipped item.
