Etsy About Section Generator
Turn your notes into an Etsy About section: a story headline, your shop story and short bios for each shop member.
What goes in an Etsy About section
Etsy describes the About section as the place to share the story of your business: your creative process, the story behind your products, and your teammates or collaborators. You can use up to 5,000 characters, add photos or a video of your workspace, and list shop members with their roles and bios.
| Part | What the tool writes |
|---|---|
| Story headline | 4 to 10 words that sum up the shop |
| Shop story | How it started, how you make things, what you care about and what's next |
| Shop members | A 20 to 40 word bio for each person, with their role |
| Photo ideas | Two or three shots to add, based on your notes |
An example from rough notes
The Potter example preset
- Notes
- Night class in 2019 after 10 years as a nurse, shop opened 2021, garage studio in Asheville
- Process
- Every piece wheel-thrown and glazed by hand, fired in small batches, some glazes mixed in-house
- Values
- Pieces for everyday use, not shelf decor
- Members
- Maya (owner, potter), Sam (photos and packing)
A first-person shop story built only from these facts, a headline, and two member bios. Load the Potter example above to see the full result.
Specific details make the story believable: the night class, the garage, the glazes. The tool uses yours and never invents years, places or awards.

Questions people ask
How long can an Etsy About section be?
Etsy lets you tell your shop story in up to 5,000 characters. Most good ones use far less: 150 to 250 words is plenty.
Should I write in first person?
Yes. "I" for a solo maker, "we" for a team. Buyers on Etsy want to know who's behind the shop.
What if I'm not a maker, like a vintage seller?
Write about how you find and choose items, what you look for and how you check condition. The tool works the same way.
Can I list people who help me?
Yes. Etsy lets you add shop members with a role, such as Owner, Designer, Photographer or Shipper, plus a bio.
Is it free?
Yes, with a fair-use limit so it stays free for everyone. There's no sign-up. Your notes are sent to an AI model only to write the copy.
