The generator writes all 13, aims for 12 to 18 characters each and uses only letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and apostrophes. AI models count loosely, so run the result through the Etsy tag checker, which checks every tag's length and characters exactly.

How the 13 tags are chosen

Etsy's search looks at your whole listing: title, tags, attributes, description, photos and even reviews. Tags are where you cover the other ways buyers describe your item. The generator spreads them across angles:

Phrases of two or three words beat single words, because they match what buyers type. The tool avoids near-duplicates and singular and plural pairs, which waste slots.

Adding the tags on Etsy

    Copy the list

    Use Copy on the Your 13 tags box.

    Open the listing

    In Shop Manager, go to Listings, open the listing and scroll to Tags.

  3. 03

    Paste and publish

    Paste the list: Etsy splits it into separate tags at each comma. Remove any old tags you're replacing, then publish.

Questions people ask

How many tags can I use on Etsy?

13 per listing, each up to 20 characters including spaces. Use all 13: every empty slot is a search you can't show up for.

Should my tags repeat my title?

Your main search phrase should appear in both. The rest of the tags should cover phrases the title doesn't: occasions, styles, recipients and materials.

Why won't Etsy accept a tag?

Usually it's over 20 characters or uses a character Etsy doesn't allow, such as & or /. The Etsy tag checker finds both.

Should I use single words or phrases?

Mostly phrases of two or three words. They match what buyers search and still cover the single words inside them.

Is it free?

Yes, with a fair-use limit so it stays free for everyone. There's no sign-up. Your notes are sent to an AI model only to write the copy.
