When the 2026 peak fee applies
Amazon charges holiday peak fulfillment fees from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027, the same dates as the 2025 season. They cover FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime. Rates last checked 30 Sep 2026.
- The fee is set when the unit leaves the fulfillment center, not when the order is placed. An order placed on 14 October that ships on the 15th pays the peak rate.
- Amazon says peak rates are $0.32 per unit higher on average than non-peak rates, the same increase as last year. Your own increase depends on size tier, weight and price band.
- The 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applies on top of peak fees.
- From 15 January 2027, fees go back to non-peak rates.
| Size tier and weight | Non-peak ($10 to $50) | Peak ($10 to $50) | Increase |

| Small standard, 2 oz or less | $3.32 | $3.51 | +$0.19 |
| Small standard, 14+ to 16 oz | $3.96 | $4.18 | +$0.22 |

| Small bulky, first lb | $7.55 | $8.59 | +$1.04 |
| Large bulky, first lb | $9.35 | $10.39 | +$1.04 |
| Extra-large 0 to 50 lb, first lb | $26.33 | $29.06 | +$2.73 |
Rates for most products, before the surcharge, from Amazon's 2026 US FBA fulfillment fee page. Apparel and dangerous goods have their own tables, and the calculator covers both.
How the calculator works
Worked example (the calculator's starting values)
- Product
- Large standard, 1.3 lb, $24.99
- Non-peak fee
- $5.42 ($5.61 with surcharge)
- Peak fee
- $5.73 ($5.93 with surcharge)
- Extra per unit
- $0.32
- Units shipped 15 Oct to 14 Jan
- 1,200
Extra cost over the season: 0.32 × 1,200 = $384.00. At a 15% referral fee, a price rise of 0.32 ÷ 0.85 = $0.38 covers it.
Planning for peak, and using this after it
- Get stock in early. For Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday, Amazon asked for FBA inventory to arrive by 21 Oct 2026 with minimal shipment splits, or 28 Oct with Amazon-optimized splits.
- Watch days of supply. Fast Q4 sales can push stock under 28 days and add the low-inventory-level fee on top of peak rates.
- Check low-price and bulky items first. On a $25 product the increase is about 1% of the price. On items under $10, or bulky items where it's $1 or more, it can take most of the margin.
- Compare channels. If you also sell on your own store, compare your Amazon margin at peak with your store margin before deciding where to spend ad budget. Update store prices in Shopify from Products, or in WooCommerce under Products, then Product data > General.
- After 14 January, enter the units you actually shipped in the window to see what peak cost you. This page is updated when Amazon publishes the next season's rates.
Questions people ask
When does the Amazon peak fulfillment fee start and end in 2026?
It applies to units shipped from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027. Non-peak rates return on 15 January 2027.
How much is the Amazon holiday peak fee?
Amazon says $0.32 per unit on average. For standard-size items outside apparel and dangerous goods it's $0.19 to $0.54 more per unit before the surcharge; bulky items pay $1.04 more and extra-large items more again.
Does the peak fee apply to orders placed before 15 October?
It depends on the ship date. Amazon charges fulfillment fees when the unit leaves the fulfillment center, so an order placed earlier but shipped on or after 15 October pays the peak rate.
Is the 3.5% surcharge added to peak fees?
Yes. Amazon's holiday announcement says the fuel and logistics surcharge applies on top of holiday peak fulfillment fees.
Does the peak fee apply to Multi-Channel Fulfillment?
Yes, MCF and Buy with Prime have peak rates too. They use their own rate cards, so this calculator covers FBA only.
