Paste your old site's URLs on one side and the new site's URLs on the other, one per line, full URLs or just paths. For every old URL, the tool compares its path segments and slug against every new URL and picks the closest match.
- High confidence: the paths are identical, or share almost all of the same words in the same structure.
- Medium confidence: most words match, but the path structure changed (a category was renamed, or a page moved up a level).
- Low confidence: a handful of words overlap. Worth checking by hand.
- No match: nothing in the new list is close. These default to the homepage ("/") in the export, replace them with a better target before you use the file.
This is a starting point, not a guarantee. Always spot-check the matches, especially anything below high confidence, before you publish redirects on a live site.
Using the export
- Shopify: the CSV downloads with the exact "Redirect from" and "Redirect to" headers Shopify's importer expects. Go to Content → Menus → URL redirects → Import.
- Apache: copy the
.htaccessblock, it uses oneRedirect 301line per URL. - Nginx: copy the config block into your server's redirect rules and reload Nginx.
Questions people ask
Can I use full URLs with different domains?
Yes. Only the path is compared for matching; the domain is ignored so you can migrate between two different domains.
What should I do with "No match" rows?
Point them somewhere useful by hand: the closest category or collection page, or the homepage as a last resort. A 404 that redirects to a random page hurts more than a clean 404.
Does this create the redirects for me?
No, it builds the mapping file. You still need to import it (Shopify) or deploy the config (Apache/Nginx) yourself.
How many URLs can I paste in?
There's no hard limit, but very large lists (many thousands of URLs) will take longer to compare and are easier to review in smaller batches, by section or content type.
