Cleaned HTML

–

Paste this into your platform's HTML editor.

Plain text version

–

No markup at all, useful for meta descriptions or a plain email.

What it removes

Supplier feeds, dropshipping apps and Word or Google Docs pastes all carry hidden markup: inline style="..." attributes, <font> tags, empty <span> wrappers, tracking pixels, <script> tags and Word's mso- comments. Every one of these can fight your theme's own CSS or slow the page down.

  • Inline styles and class attributes, so your theme's CSS controls the look
  • <font>, <script>, <style>, <meta>, <iframe> and HTML comments (including Word's conditional comments)
  • Empty <span> and <div> wrappers left behind once styles are stripped
  • Extra attributes like onclick and align that don't belong in a store description

You choose whether to keep bold, italic and lists, keep links, and keep images. The cleaned HTML appears instantly, with a copy button and a plain-text version underneath.

Where to paste the result

  1. 01

    Shopify

Open the product, click the description field's <> (Show HTML) button in the toolbar, and paste the cleaned HTML there. Switching to HTML view first stops Shopify's editor from re-adding its own markup around your paste.

  2. 02

    WooCommerce

In the product editor, switch the description field to the Text tab (next to Visual) and paste the cleaned HTML, then switch back to Visual to check it.

  3. 03

    Re-upload images separately

This tool never re-hosts images: it just removes broken or tracking <img> tags if you turn that option off. Download and re-upload real product photos through your platform's media library so they aren't hot-linked to a supplier's server.

Questions people ask

Will this remove my product's images?

No, by default images are kept as <img> tags. Turn off Keep images if you'd rather strip them and add your own through Shopify's or WooCommerce's media library.

Does it fix broken links?

It removes javascript: and empty links, but it can't check whether a link still points somewhere valid. Turn off Keep links to strip all links and keep plain text instead.

Why does the cleaned HTML still have some `<div>` tags?

Divs and spans that contain real content are kept for structure; only the ones left empty after stripping styles are removed.

Is this the same as pasting into Google Docs and copying back out?

No. Google Docs and Word add their own styling and class names when you paste, which is often worse. This tool works on raw HTML and only removes markup, it doesn't add any.
