Shopify Store Audit
One check that scans platform setup, structured data, international SEO and a sample product page, and scores what needs fixing first.
What's in the audit
| Area | What it checks |
|---|---|
| Platform and apps | Confirms the store is on Shopify, reads the theme name, and counts common apps detected publicly. |
| Search and international setup | Homepage canonical tag, hreflang tags if any, whether the homepage is indexable, and whether robots.txt lists a sitemap. |
| Sample product | Fetches one product page linked from the homepage and checks its structured data, price and canonical tag. |
It's a fast, broad pass, not a replacement for the dedicated checkers in this collection. Run the product schema, canonical, hreflang, theme and app tools individually for the full detail behind any category this flags.
Reading the score
The score weights checks Google or shoppers are most likely to notice (indexability, structured data, canonical correctness) higher than smaller polish items. A lower score means more of those higher-weight checks failed, worth working through top to bottom rather than chasing the score itself.
Questions people ask
Does this check every product, or just one?
One sample product, linked from the homepage. It's meant to catch systemic issues (a theme-wide missing schema field, a broken canonical pattern) rather than audit every SKU individually.
Why does it say my store isn't built on Shopify?
If the homepage doesn't show Shopify's usual signatures (cdn.shopify.com assets, the Shopify.shop object), the rest of the audit still runs but its Shopify-specific guidance may not apply, for instance on a headless storefront.
Can I get this fixed instead of just diagnosed?
Yes, get in touch through the contact link on this page with the URL you checked.
How is this different from Shopify's own built-in SEO recommendations?
Shopify's admin surfaces some SEO suggestions from inside your store's data. This audit fetches the live public page the way a search engine or a shopper would see it, which catches issues (like a broken canonical tag from an app) that the admin view can't.
