BigCommerce to Shopify CSV Converter
Convert a BigCommerce product export to Shopify's CSV, with variants.
How it works
Export your catalog from BigCommerce (Products → Export, the modern template) and upload the CSV here. BigCommerce's modern export lists a Product row, then a Variant row per option combination and an Image row per photo; this tool follows that structure and rebuilds it as Shopify's single-handle-per-product CSV.
Variant option names and values are read from the Options column (Name=...|Value=... pairs). If your export formats that column differently, check the preview before importing.
Pitfalls
- BigCommerce weight is converted from pounds to grams; check the weight column if your store uses kilograms.
- Retail Price becomes Compare-at price, so a sale shows correctly on Shopify.
- Product descriptions may include BigCommerce-specific HTML classes; clean those up after importing if your theme doesn't style them.
Questions people ask
Does it need the exact BigCommerce column names?
Yes, this reads the modern export's Item, Name, SKU, Price, Options and Image URL columns, so use BigCommerce's own export rather than a hand-edited file.
What about custom fields?
Custom fields aren't carried over yet; add them as Shopify metafields with the Metafields CSV Builder after importing.
Will it keep my product descriptions?
Yes, from the Description column, as HTML.
Does it handle out-of-stock products?
Current Stock is carried over as Shopify's inventory quantity; it doesn't change a product's visibility.
