Magento to Shopify CSV Converter
Convert a Magento product export (including configurable products) to Shopify's CSV.
How it works
Export your catalog from Magento (System → Data Transfer → Export, Products) and upload the CSV here. For a configurable product, the child SKUs and attribute values are read from its configurable_variations column; price, quantity and weight for each variant come from that child's own row when it exists in the file.
Rows with a store_view_code are skipped, so only the default (admin) view's data is used, avoiding duplicate products from multiple storefronts.
Pitfalls
- Categories are read as a slash-separated path (like Default Category/Hats); only the first segment becomes the Shopify product Type.
- special_price becomes Shopify's Compare-at price setup automatically, the same way a sale price would.
- Bundle and grouped products aren't supported, only simple and configurable products.
Questions people ask
What if a child SKU has no row in the file?
That variant's price and quantity fall back to the parent row's values, and you'll see a warning listing which SKUs were affected.
Does it support more than one export at a time?
Yes, since simple products and their configurable parent both live in one file, as Magento exports them.
What weight unit does it assume?
Set the unit your Magento store uses below; it's not stored in the export itself.
Will URLs redirect automatically?
No, Magento URLs vary too much by store setup for a general redirect map. Export your Magento url_key values and build redirects by hand or with the CSV Find & Replace tool.
