Order History to Matrixify CSV

Convert a WooCommerce, Wix or spreadsheet order history into a Matrixify-style Orders CSV, since Shopify's own admin can't import orders.

Describe the result you need. AI will set up the tool and ask for any missing details.

Why Matrixify

Shopify's admin has no way to bulk-import past orders: the closest tool is Matrixify (formerly Excelify), a paid Shopify app that reads a specific spreadsheet layout. This converter takes an order history export from WooCommerce, Wix, BigCommerce or a plain spreadsheet, and reshapes it into that layout: one row per line item, with order-level fields (email, financial status, shipping address) filled in only on each order's first row, the way Matrixify reads a multi-item order.

Financial Status is guessed from your Status column (completed/paid → paid, refunded → refunded, cancelled → voided). Shopify only accepts pending, authorized, paid, partially_paid, refunded, partially_refunded or voided, so check this column before importing.

Using the download

  1. 01

    Export your order history

WooCommerce: Analytics → Orders → Export, or a reporting plugin. Wix: Orders → Export. Or build a spreadsheet with order number, email, product, SKU, quantity and price.

  2. 02

    Convert here

Check that line items are grouped correctly under each order number.

  3. 03

    Compare against Matrixify's own template

In Matrixify, go to Import → Orders → Download template and check the column names still match before a real import, since Matrixify updates its sheet layout from time to time.

  4. 04

    Import in Matrixify

Run it as a dry run first if the app offers one, then commit the import.

Pitfalls

  • Historical orders imported this way don't trigger emails, notifications or automations meant for new orders (check Matrixify's own settings for this).
  • Products need to exist in Shopify first, matched by handle or SKU, or the line items won't attach correctly.
  • This isn't a payment record: imported orders don't move real money or create real transactions.

Questions people ask

Can I import orders without Matrixify?

Not in bulk through Shopify's own admin. Matrixify (or a developer using Shopify's Admin API directly) is the practical option for bulk historical orders.

Will customers be created automatically?

Matrixify can create customer records from the order data during import; check that option in its import settings.

What if my orders have more than one shipping address?

This converter uses one shipping address per order, taken from the first line item's row. Handle any order with multiple addresses separately.

Does this affect my Shopify analytics for those dates?

Imported historical orders generally count toward Shopify's reports for their order date, but always test with a handful of orders first and check your reports before importing everything.
