Customer & Order Import Formatter
Clean up a Shopify, Etsy, Wix or Mailchimp export into a plain customer or order CSV, ready to map into a WooCommerce importer plugin.
Why this tool exists
Core WooCommerce doesn't include a bulk customer or order importer: you need a plugin, such as WP All Import or a dedicated WooCommerce order/customer import extension, and every plugin's column-mapping screen expects a clean file to work from. This tool doesn't try to guess your plugin's exact column names (they vary): instead it standardizes whatever export you have (Shopify, Etsy, Wix, Mailchimp, a spreadsheet) into a small set of plain, clearly labeled columns, so mapping them in your plugin's own import screen takes one pass.
Choose Customers or Orders before uploading: customers get one row per person (email, name, phone, address); orders get one row per line item, grouped by Order Number, since that's how most order importers read a multi-item order.
Using the download
- 01
Export from your old platform
Shopify: Customers or Orders → Export. Etsy: Shop Manager → Settings → Options → Download Data. Wix: Contacts → Export, or Orders → Export.
- 02
Convert here
Pick Customers or Orders, upload, and check the preview.
- 03
Install an importer plugin
Search the WordPress plugin directory for a WooCommerce customer or order importer, or use WP All Import with its WooCommerce add-on.
- 04
Map the columns
On the plugin's mapping screen, match this file's plain column names (Email, First Name, Order Number, Item Name…) to its fields.
Pitfalls
- Test the import with a handful of rows before running the full file, since every plugin handles duplicates and existing accounts differently.
- Order status names don't match 1:1 between platforms (Shopify's “fulfilled” isn't a WooCommerce order status). Check status mapping in your import plugin.
- Column names on export files change between app versions and store settings. This tool matches a wide set of likely header names and shows a live preview, so check the preview against your file before you download.
Questions people ask
Does this create WordPress user accounts?
No, it only produces the CSV. Creating accounts (or guest orders) happens in whichever import plugin you use.
Can I import passwords?
No export includes plain-text passwords for security reasons. New customers will need to set a password via WooCommerce's normal “lost password” flow.
What order statuses does the converter use?
It passes your source status through as-is. Map it to a valid WooCommerce status (pending, processing, on-hold, completed, cancelled, refunded, failed) in your import plugin.
Can I import products and customers at the same time?
No, run them separately: use one of the product converters in this batch first, then this tool for customers or orders.
