How the description is built

Shoppers can't smell a candle through a screen, so the description does it in words first, then gives the facts.

  • Opening: the scent in concrete words and the room or moment it suits.
  • Scent notes: top, heart and base, one line each, if you split them. Otherwise one list.
  • Features: the wax, the wick, the vessel and how it's made.
  • Size and burn time: the burn time from your own testing, written as "about".
  • Burning tips: your tips, plus a standard line about never leaving a candle unattended.

Pick Wax melts and the burn-time and wick sections are replaced with how to use them in a warmer.

Claims to leave out

  • Wellbeing claims. The FDA lists aromatherapy claims such as helping you sleep as claims that can make a product a drug. The tool describes the mood of a room, not an effect on your body.
  • "Non-toxic". The FTC's Green Guides say it's deceptive to misrepresent a product as non-toxic, and a claim needs evidence that it's safe for people and the environment.
  • "Eco-friendly" or "green". The Green Guides say these broad claims are hard to back up and should be limited to a specific benefit, such as a reusable jar.
  • Burn time is only included if you give one. Test it yourself in the vessel you sell.

Questions people ask

How do you describe a candle scent?

Name what it smells like in everyday terms (green fig, cedar, warm vanilla), say what it reminds you of, then list the top, heart and base notes. Concrete beats abstract.

Should I list the burn time?

Yes, if you've tested it. Give it as an approximate figure, because burn time changes with how long each session lasts and how the wick is trimmed.

Can I say my soy candle is non-toxic or clean-burning?

Only if you can back it up. The FTC's Green Guides say non-toxic claims need evidence, so the tool leaves those words out unless your details include them.

Does it work for wax melts?

Yes. Choose Wax melts and it writes how to use them in a warmer instead of wick and burn-time sections.

Is it free?

Yes, with a fair-use limit so it stays free for everyone. There's no sign-up. Your notes are sent to an AI model only to write the copy.
